Gutter Cleaning

If you look at the two photos above, they show the solution to clogging gutters. Having us install a large aluminum outlet and placing a Ramp Filter over top is all you need to prevent a clogged outlet. We guarnatee this 100%. We have dozens of customers with this upgrade and their gutters never clog.

As you can see by watching this short video, vacuuming gutters is far superior to any other method. These gutters are filled with mud. Getting this mud out by hand would take a very long time. Our young fellows who do the work don’t have to dig their hands into the gutters trying to pull it all out and potentially washing it down into your drains. We provide them with the equipment to quickly vacuum out all leaves, mud and/or water leaving the interior of your gutters virtually spotless.

Gutter Repairs and Upgrades

Leaking Corner Repairs
It’s important to get leaking corners repaired as soon as possible. If left too long, the leaking water can ruin the paint on the fascia board and cause it to rot if the leaking is left for a few years.

I often hear owners say to come and throw some silicone on the corner. Silicone is really only for bathrooms/kitchens around tubs and sinks. It is not appropriate for sealing a gutter corner. With wide fluctuations in temperatures from winter to summer, a sealant that expands and contracts along with temperature changes is needed. We only use professional corner sealant.

Like painting, surface preparation is key. Email us for a photo array of how we repair corners. Without this preparation, a repair can fail quite quickly. Rarely do we ever have a customer call us saying a corner we repaired is still leaking. We do however get calls from homeowners telling us that another company did a repair and it is still leaking. When we investigate, it is almost always poor surface preparation that was the culprit. When I hear the price a homeowner paid for a corner repair, I know the corner was not prepared properly. A proper repair takes time. When done properly, the repair should last for as long as you live in your home.

Protect your roof with Spill Trays or Downspout Extensions

To the right is a photo of a Spill Tray. Sometimes a downspout can be used for the same purpose. The reason for having either a Spill Tray or Downspout installed is to protect your roof. Just as the Colorado River carved the Grand Canyon, water running out of a downspout from an upper level gutter onto the lower roof will eventually carve a line through the shingles. Moss will also grow more readily in this area. Not connecting the upper level gutters to the lower level gutters with a Downspout or Spill Tray may void your roofs’ warranty due to the damage that will eventually occur if water is left to drain onto the lower roof from an upper level gutter for months on end every winter.

To the left are two photos showing a downspout we installed connecting the upper level gutter to the lower level gutter. Either of these are an easy and inexpensive way to protect your roof.
